Leaf Collection starts on October 19th & ends on November 18th. Township Roadcrew will only visit each road once a week, so if you see them come through on a Monday, they will not be back on the road until the following week. Residents are asked to rake the leaves to the curb or gutter if they want the leaves collected. Only leaves at the curb will be collected. Please DO NOT place anything other than leaves at the curbside or gutter. Leaf collection WILL NOT occur on Miller Drive, Marion, Curtis Road, Commons Road, Clover Strip Lane, Luckenbill Road, & along Route 222 for safety reasons.

The brush drop off location at the Township is open. Brush drop off is for TOWNSHIP RESIDENTIAL USE ONLY. Township accepts any form of brush up to FOUR (4) inches in diameter. WE DO NOT ACCEPT: large tree stumps, firewood, bamboo, flowers/plants, construction material, bales, concrete/cement blocks/grass clippings.

Project Begins April 14, 2025

At the request of Township Residents, and due to the high number of stray/free roaming cats in the Township, the Board of Supervisors have agreed to support TRN (trap, neuter, return) in our Municipality. Township Residents can take a stray/free roaming cat to the clinic of their choice, get an invoice showing service provided, submit the invoice to the Township (with proof of residency) and get reimbursed up to $40.00 for each service. Each Resident/Household will be capped at 3 reimbursements in 2025, with a maximum payout of 37 services/reimbursements Township wide for the year. You can choose how you want to receive alerts either by text, email, or both. If you are attempting to sign into the REGROUP MOBILE APP - use 'maxatawny' as the network name

Welcome to Maxatawny Township

Maxatawny is a name derived from a Native American language purported to mean "Bear's Path Creek". Maxatawny encompasses a total area of 26.3 square miles and is home to approximately 7,181 residents and is served by the Kutztown Area School District. Kutztown University of Pennsylvania lies mostly in the township and straddles the boundary with Kutztown.

Maxatawny Township is recognized for its pastoral farmlands, tranquil woodlands, and gentle rolling hills. We are a thriving community for both families and businesses.
